Buscema Gastronomia has been running since 1987 and it specialises in the sale of food products made from plants and meats. Since then, it has been one of the first Italian companies to have launched a new way of representing the classic conserves in glass jarsm by introducing vacuum-packed and refrigerated products. This method mainly aims to speed up the distribution process, in order to deliver product that remains always fresh and fragrant, due to its organoleptic characteristics.
However, the Buscema family starts off in the world of gastronomic tradition much earlier, in 1966, when the pioneer Luigi Buscema emigrated to Piedmont (region in North Italy). After many difficulties and after having worked a few years for a well-known food company in Piedmont, he decided to become self-employed.
He started establishing himself in Turin by selling gastronomic specialties handmade by him personally and by the passion that he was driven by, which was then passed from father to son.
We can define Luigi Buscema as a real “pioneer”, one of those who wanted to go one step further in the food industry. In fact, despite the success achieved in Northern Italy, homesickness was so strong that he felt the need to move his renowned business in his hometown in 1982. At first, he started with the preparation and sale of retail products, and then slowly moved to its transformation, both for the company and for the products. Over the years, the firm has expanded abroad too.

Today, Buscema Gastronomia has an excellent role in the agri-foods national sector and it remains a reference for all those companies who operate in this sector.
Buscema Gastronomia offers a great deal of gastronomic specialties from olives, marinated fish and vegetables in olive oil, but the very first place goes to the grilled products, the very masterpiece of the company.
Our company is located in the industrial area of Crotone, situated on a 13000 m2 area, of which 4000m2 are divided in 2500 m2 designed for production units and 1500 m2 of deposits and refrigerated warehouses. It is equipped with facilities and leading-edge technologies to guarantee the most elevated sanitary standards in the production of gastronomic specialities. All the company’s equipment and machinery give way to high quantities of daily production and the varied requests that come from an ever changing market and client demand.
The company has always been looking for innovation on the productive side by experimenting new specialties to launch, as well as on the technologic side, as we care for our environment.
Distribution is an essential phase of our production chain, and it became one of our major strengths.
In fact, one of our singularity is to manage to supply our clients weekly. We produce daily according to the orders received, which makes it beneficial on the stocking side as well as being able to provide a much fresher product in less time which means more sales for the client.
